CORAL is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. We depend on the generous support of individual donors, foundations, and corporate and government grants to build grassroots conservation partnerships among local community members, government leaders, and marine recreation providers in seven field locations around the world. We are the only international organization working exclusively to protect coral reefs from the effects of climate change and other human-induced stressors.

Over the next five years, CORAL will expand its conservation work by more than double, creating Coral Reef Sustainable Destinations (CRSD) in ten new locations worldwide. From four centers of excellence, CORAL will provide education, outreach, and micro-financing for projects related to sustainable tourism, community development, sustainable financing, and effective management of marine protected areas. Through this ambitious expansion of CORAL’s programs, we intend to build reef resiliency the world over, ensuring that future generations can enjoy healthy coral reefs for years to come.
